Based in El Segundo, CA, with other possible locations, this full-time position requires at least 4 days onsite and involves

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a structural mechanics related STEM field or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in multiple aerospace structural mechanics disciplines.
  • Experience with space and/or launch vehicle contractors.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful outcomes on national security space programs.
  • Willing to occasionally travel domestically to support customer needs (~10%).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Connect emerging issues and programs with subdivision capabilities, managing joint decision processes and advocating for strategic priorities.
  • Create and lead ad-hoc cross-disciplinary teams to develop solutions addressing process, product, and data flow shortcomings.
  • Maintain awareness of capabilities across departments and foster opportunities to apply them.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and contractors, representing subdivision equities across all program acquisitions.
  • Maintain technical depth in structural mechanics and implement capabilities where appropriate.
  • Identify technical needs and solutions during hardware development and operation, including root-cause analysis of anomalies.
  • Maintain requirements, supporting data, and rationale for SSC-S-016.
