Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Birmingham seeks a seasoned Structural Engineer to lead and grow the local group, expanding client relationships and delivery capability across projects. You will mentor engineers and BIM specialists, manage project leadership from planning through construction, and connect the Birmingham office with KPFF's regional and national resources to drive long-term growth.

Qualifications

• PE license required; SE license preferred
• 8+ years progressive structural engineering experience including leadership of complex projects and client interaction
• Minimum 3 years leading teams of three or more engineers
• Experience with client development, relationship management and business development preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the Birmingham structural engineering group, expanding the office's local presence and long-term impact
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and BIM modelers
• Strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities, and position KPFF for growth locally and nationally
• Provide technical and project leadership across structural systems from planning through construction
• Shape office culture, processes, and connect Birmingham with KPFF's regional and national resources
