Job summary

Wood Group seeks a Lead Structural Engineer for our Greenville, SC office. This remote role is zoned to the Greenville office, reporting to the Manager of the Civil/Structural Department.

You will lead design through detailed stages for industrial steel structures and coordinate with other disciplines. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of structural design, a PE license (NCEES) and strong skills in STAAD, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural design experience in industrial steel structures.
• Familiarity with US steel design codes; international codes a plus.
• Experience in seismic design and foundations for industrial facilities.
• Understanding of cost factors in concrete and steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts through detailed design stages.
• Perform load determination and stress analysis using design tools.
• Coordinate structural work with other engineering disciplines.
• Prepare work scopes and technical specifications.
• Evaluate supplier bids for compliance and provide technical input.
• Support estimating and proposals with preliminary designs and specs.
• Conduct on-site inspections and troubleshoot as needed.
• Ensure adherence to Wood's Quality system and Safety Policy.
