Job summary

A leading consulting firm in Chicago seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex projects, develop engineering standards, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, at least 7 years of relevant experience, and knowledge of structural design codes. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership experience at a professional level.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects of high complexity in structural engineering.
• Develop documentation and coordinate project specifications.
• Oversee project scope, budgets, and design approaches.

Skills

Structural design codes knowledge (IBC, ASCE 7, etc.)

Project document production understanding

Structural systems and materials knowledge

Leadership in team settings

3D modeling with Bentley Structural, Microstation, or Revit

Experience in structural engineering software (STAAD, RISA)

Strong written communication skills

Business development and marketing skills

Education
