Job summary

Monroe Environmental Corp in Michigan is seeking a Structural Engineer to perform analysis and design of industrial equipment and supporting structures. You will coordinate with project engineers, designers, and fabricators to ensure code-compliant solutions.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and familiarity with AISC/ASCE 7, IBC, AWS D1.1/D1.6. PE license preferred, with potential field support and travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably with industrial/manufacturing applications.
• Active PE license preferred.
• Experience with industrial equipment and structures such as tanks, clarifiers, towers, bridges, catwalks, ladders, and skids is beneficial.
• Familiarity with AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, AWS D1.1/D1.6, OSHA and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for industrial equipment and supporting structures.
• Develop engineering calculations for beams, columns, bracing, base plates, anchor bolts, and equipment supports.
• Evaluate loads (dead, live, wind, seismic) and determine load combinations per codes.
• Coordinate with project engineers, CAD, and fabrication teams.
• Review drawings and ensure structural compliance with customer specs.
• Provide or coordinate signed/sealed calculations when required.
