Job summary

Limiting Factor Group seeks a Structural Engineer to design foundations, slabs, and steel framing for data center infrastructure, prioritizing seismic anchorage for California sites. You will review equipment pads and assess existing buildings for retrofit, coordinating with external consultants to ensure plan approvals.

Qualified candidates hold a PE license and a bachelor’s in structural or civil engineering, with 5+ years of design experience and proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, or RISA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering is required.
• At least 5 years of structural design experience.
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360 and building codes.
• Experience with ETABS, SAP2000 or RISA for analysis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and review foundations, slabs, steel framing, roof structures and equipment pads.
• Design for heavy equipment loads from generators, transformers, rooftops, and racks.
• Carry out seismic design and equipment anchorage for California sites.
• Evaluate existing buildings for conversion or retrofit.
• Prepare calculations and drawings for permits and respond to plan review comments.
• Manage outside structural consultants and review their work.
• Observe construction on site and review submittals and contractor questions.
