Job summary

SPX Cooling Technologies is seeking a Senior Engineer I to provide structural engineering for complex cooling tower projects across product lines. You will coordinate internal and external teams, direct engineers and drafters, ensure compliance with codes, and support testing, vendor processes, and project planning.

Travel and collaboration across locations are expected. Ideal candidates have extensive engineering experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience
• Design for manufacturing methods
• Experience with SAP ERP Systems
• Experience in AutoCAD, MatchCAD, RISA2D, and RISA3D
• Experience in Solid Edge
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience working with teams in different locations
• Knowledge of national building codes
• Knowledge of cooling tower design and structural engineering fundamentals
• Broad knowledge of cooling tower design and structural engineering principles

Responsibilities

• Project management and scheduling tasks
• Review, approve, and control vendor-supplied engineering documents
• Provide support to site erection and commissioning teams
• Delegate work to drafters and engineers
• Serve as technical consultant to sales and construction teams and customers
• Develop new designs and solutions to problems
• Write operating and maintenance manuals
• Verify and provide proof of job completion to meet specs
• Sign and approve drawings for new designs and product standards
• Test production equipment and conduct product testing
