Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks an experienced Structural Engineer / Project Manager in Charlottesville, VA to lead Cold-Formed/Light Gauge Steel projects from kickoff to completion.

You will mentor a team, drive client relationships, and coordinate with disciplines, while ensuring schedule, budget, and quality goals are met. Active PE license and 8+ years of design experience are required, with opportunities to oversee multiple projects and contribute to proposals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of structural engineering design experience, with at least 5 years in cold-formed/light gauge steel.
• 4+ years of project management experience.
• Active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cold-Formed / Light Gauge Steel projects from kickoff to completion.
• Mentor and supervise junior structural professionals.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and monthly billings.
• Review contracts and scopes of work, enforce quality control procedures.
• Support proposals, bidding, and construction document production.
