Job summary

HDR, Inc. invites a Senior Structural Engineer (Buildings) to join our team in Boise, Idaho. You will act as a technical leader, guiding designs and calculations for complex structures while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance facilities.

Ideal candidates bring a PE license, 10+ years of building design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, and SAFE. HDR values employee ownership and a culture of inclusion and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience in building design.
• Experience with design calculations and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering for projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity.
• Plan and develop projects or design activities.
• Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians.
• Serve as Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not the sole focus of the position.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software
• Experience in design calculations and layouts
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
• Requires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
