NOVA Engineering & Environmental, LLC in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks a Senior Engineer (Structural & Building Assessment) with a Florida PE license to lead structural evaluations for commercial and residential projects, focusing on plan reviews, Milestone Inspections, and 40-Year Recertifications.

You will coordinate with owners, architects, and municipalities, review engineering documents, mentor staff, and ensure Florida Building Code compliance across new and existing buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years in structural engineering or related consulting.
• Experience with plan reviews and engineering evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems and building materials.
• Experience with Florida Building Code and local review processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Milestone Inspections and 40-Year Recertification evaluations.
• Perform structural condition assessments for diverse building types.
• Review structural plans, calculations, and shop drawings for code compliance.
• Sign and seal engineering reports and evaluations as required.
• Support Threshold Inspections and CMT-related activities.
• Provide technical oversight for projects and QA programs.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff.
