Job Description
About the Role:
The Special Projects Group of KPFF is growing and looking for an ambitious and initiative-driven Structural Engineer to strengthen our dynamic team in Seattle, WA. You will be at the heart of downtown, working on a diverse range of waterfront and industrial infrastructure projects. As a key member of our team, you'll use your existing expertise in waterfront infrastructure, but also dive deep into the realms of design, project management, and delivering unparalleled client service.
What You’ll Be Doing
Structural Design and Development:- Apply your engineering expertise to diverse projects, collaborating with teams to devise innovative solutions in areas such as pile design, bulkhead wall, prestressed concrete, and seismic design for Port developments.
- Contribute to projects involving waterfront infrastructure and industrial developments.
- Learn to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Gain experience in ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Enhance your skills in identifying and overcoming challenges through innovative problem-solving approaches.
Project Leadership:- Managing project tasks, ensuring efficient coordination of timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as necessary.
- Mentor team members to support their professional growth.
Client Engagement And Exceptional Service:- Foster strong client relationships by actively listening to client needs and delivering customized solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
QualificationsWho We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 10 years of structural design experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis).
- MS in Civil Engineering preferred (with a structural emphasis).
- SE required.
- Concrete steel and timber design experience.
- Pile design and bulkhead wall experience.
- Prestressed concrete and seismic design experience.
- Knowledge of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS.
- Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, MS Excel, and VBA is preferred.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven capability to work dynamically and effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for developing design and project management skills.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and exceeding expectations.
Physical Demands And Work Environment:- Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting.
- Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
- Occasionally visiting project locations and performing field inspections.
- Traveling to project sites or client meetings.

Compensation:The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate with 10+ years of experience is $120,000-$150,000. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses.
