You’re a structural engineer with a passion for thoughtful, impactful design—and now you’re looking for a role where you can lead, mentor, and make a visible difference. This Senior Structural Engineer position in Virginia Beach, VA offers the perfect balance of autonomy, technical challenge, and leadership within a tight-knit, growing team.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead structural engineering design for projects including educational buildings, adaptive reuse, and mixed-use developments
• Oversee project scope, schedule, budgets, and documentation
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and CAD staff; review calculations and drawings for code and quality compliance
• Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and owners from kickoff to construction
• Conduct structural assessments and provide forensic analysis or value engineering as needed
• Represent the firm at client meetings, construction sites, and with local permitting jurisdictions
• Support office leadership in quality control and business development efforts

What you’ll bring

• 8–10+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in a small or mid-sized firm
• Proficiency with Revit Structure and structural design software (RAM, RISA, ETABS, etc.)
• Strong communication, mentorship, and organizational skills
• A responsive, client-focused approach and collaborative work style
• Ability to travel occasionally to nearby office locations as needed
