Structural Engineer Position
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and cost‑effective. This includes buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure. The Engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high‑quality projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces.
- Analyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Produce standard designs in collaboration with design engineers.
- Serve as single point of contact for design engineers sending work to multiple structural consultants.
- Manage the workload to structural consultants to achieve quickest turnaround.
- Participate in meetings with structural consultants to ensure they have all necessary inputs and produce high‑quality stamped drawings.
- Manage project timelines and budgets relative to structural analysis.
- Support questions coming from construction site related to structural analysis.
- Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Identify and resolve design and construction issues.
- Provide technical advice and support during construction phases.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.
- Coach new engineers in making cost‑effective and easy‑to‑manufacture designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
