Overview
We need a Senior Structural Engineer for our Newton, MA office. The role requires technical leadership, project management, and business development support.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
- Serve as Project Manager on diverse projects, overseeing staffing, financial management, and client communication.
- Lead site investigations to document existing conditions and structural deficiencies.
- Develop project plans, design calculations, specifications, and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Oversee construction administration through site visits and issue resolution.
- Apply technical and project management skills on projects ranging from small rehabilitation to large new construction.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior engineering staff.
- Contribute to technical proposals for new work.
- Represent the firm at client meetings and site visits.
- Participate in local industry organizations and business development functions.
- Improve the department’s technical standards.
- Coordinate staffing needs and project financial performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree a plus
- 7+ years’ experience in Structural Engineering
- MA PE required
- Strong mentorship skills
- Ability to manage projects, clients, and delegate tasks
- Understanding and application of code requirements
- Experience with various structural analysis software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines
- AutoCAD and Revit experience a plus
Benefits and Compensation
- Salary range: $130,000–$150,000 annually (final amount based on qualifications)
