Job summary

DP Professionals (DPP) is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 to support weapon systems and ground vehicles. You will perform real structural analysis across the product lifecycle, with emphasis on hand calculations and fundamental methods.

You'll tackle static and dynamic analyses, weld and joint analysis, and develop loads and requirements. Experience with FEMAP, NASTRAN, MSC Patran, or LS-DYNA is valuable, and a security clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Static and dynamic analysis experience.
• Hand/calculation methods in structural engineering.
• Weld and joint analysis experience.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Experience with FEMAP, NASTRAN, MSC Patran, or LS-DYNA.
• Defense, aerospace, automotive, maritime, or heavy equipment exposure.

Structural Engineer 3 | Weapon Systems + Ground Vehicles

If you’re a Structural Engineer who can still do the math without hiding behind FEA software, I want to talk to you.

I’m working on a Structural Engineer 3 opportunity supporting advanced weapon systems, ground vehicles, mission payloads, and test platforms.

This is not a role where you simply build a model and hit “run.”

You’ll be doing real structural analysis across the product lifecycle, including:

• Static + dynamic analysis


• Classical analysis + hand calculations


• Steel and aluminum structures


• Bolted joints + weld analysis


• Loads and requirements development


• FEA and engineering simulation

The big one: HAND CALCULATIONS ARE REQUIRED.

You need to be comfortable looking at a structural problem, understanding the fundamentals, and working through the math yourself before relying on FEA.

Experience with FEMAP, NASTRAN, MSC Patran, or LS-DYNA is valuable.

Defense, aerospace, automotive, maritime, or heavy equipment experience can all translate well.
