Job summary

Tetra Tech Rooney, a Tetra Tech Inc. business unit, is seeking a Structural Engineer for our Englewood, CO, Billings, MT, or Casper, WY office. You will provide engineering support for pipelines, stations, meters, and other facilities nationwide.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, a PE license, and 5–10 years of structural experience; NCEES SE qualifications are desirable. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program with 5-10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • NCEES Professional Engineer SE qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge in the Midstream Oil & Gas industry, specifically crude oil, refined products, CO2, NGL, wet and natural gas is preferred, but not required.
  • Understand civil/structural engineering design, analysis and development of scope of work documents.
  • Ability to apply civil/structural engineering knowledge and techniques for industrial capital projects.
  • Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for pipeline, compressor stations, pump stations, meter facilities, and other units nationwide.
  • Deliver design engineering and technical expertise to a team of established consultants in the energy sector.
  • Contribute to projects with a proven track record in the Energy Industry.

Job description

The Opportunity

Tetra Tech Rooney, a Tetra Tech Inc. business unit that provides consulting engineering primarily to the midstream oil and gas industry, is seeking a Structural Engineer in our Englewood, CO, Billings, MT, or Casper, WY office.

Your Role

This position provides engineering support for pipeline, compressor station, pump stations, meter facilities, and other Tetra Tech units doing power stations, data centers, and terminal/tank projects nationwide. A successful candidate will bring design engineering and technical expertise to a team of established consultants with a proven track record in the Energy Industry.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant structural engineering experience. NCEES record preferred.

Target salary range

$100k to $150k. Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements
  • Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Constantly use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate objects.
  • Light work that includes lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and, occasionally, up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required.
  • Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle several urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy.
  • Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders to read meters at active oil & gas sites.
Work Environment

Work is conducted in an indoor office environment, but may also involve travel to work sites experiencing extreme temperatures, fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise.
