Job summary

Wells is seeking a Senior Engineer in Colorado to design and analyze precast concrete structures, ensuring safety, quality, and code compliance throughout concept to completion. You will guide project design teams, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical support to sales and estimating efforts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ experience in precast or structural design, and a PE license or the ability to obtain within the first year.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in precast or structural design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within first year of employment
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction practices
• Proficiency with design and engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, etc.)
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in fast‑paced environments
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer is responsible for the design of precast concrete structures and ensuring all engineering work meets safety, quality, and code requirements. This role leads project design efforts, supports project execution from concept through completion, and provides technical guidance to junior engineers. The Senior Engineer collaborates across departments and with external partners to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible solutions.

Salary range $100,000- $130,000 a year. Based on experience.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a motivated structural engineer with strong precast design experience and a developing or active PE license. They are technically skilled, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while ensuring safe and accurate engineering outcomes. This individual is a collaborative team player who communicates effectively, supports junior engineers, and contributes to practical, high-quality design solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
• Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
• Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
• May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
