Job summary

Cummins Inc. invites engineers with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering to assess structural performance and deliver recommendations for components and systems.

You will model with Matlab, ANSYS, and other tools, and collaborate across design, validation, and materials teams to ensure user requirements are met. Preferred candidates have 3 years of applied mechanics or systems engineering experience, including fatigue, durability, and vibration analysis, with hands-on FEA/CFD and GD&T

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 3 years of applicable engineering experience.
• Alternate: Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience in applied mechanics or systems engineering.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, ANSYS, FORTRAN, Excel, and HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Determine structural performance and provide improvement recommendations.
• Propose design decisions affecting materials, geometry, and processing.
• Model and analyze systems using FEA/CFD and GD&T to guide design choices.
