Job summary

Express Employment International (US) seeks a Senior Structural Design Engineer/PE to own complex industrial structural designs and work directly with construction professionals to bring designs to life.

You will join an established team and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure constructible, code-compliant solutions across multiple projects. A PE license and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of structural design experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics, analysis, and design.
• Experience developing and reviewing structural calculations and construction documents.
• Ability to lead design efforts and collaborate effectively with construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading structural design efforts and coordinating project deliverables.
• Performing and reviewing detailed structural calculations.
• Developing design bases, engineering philosophies, specifications, drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Reviewing construction documents for technical accuracy and constructability.
• Coordinating with Project Managers, VDC, Designers, Superintendents, and construction personnel.
• Identifying constructability issues, conflicts, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Reviewing vendor and subcontractor submittals.
• Supporting RFIs and technical questions during construction.
• Participating in project kickoff, design review, vendor, and Client/Owner meetings.
• Supporting proposal development, engineering estimates, execution strategies, and manpower requirements.
