Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional licensure or qualifications for licensure preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of joist or consulting engineering/building design experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Design structural steel components and verify welds meet specifications and codes.
• Verify steel deck specifications from contract documents.
• Design using computer software and supplementary tools.
• Redesign members for economy and compare design weight with sales weight.
• Review drawings for completeness and loading conditions.
• Generate shop fabrication documents and resolve fabrication queries.
