Job summary

Huitt-Zollars seeks a Senior Structural Bridge Project Manager (PE) to lead transportation projects from Dallas or Austin. The role requires a Texas PE and a minimum of 10 years of project management experience within a multi-disciplinary environment.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets, review drawings, and support construction administration while coordinating with clients and internal teams across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE); MSCE is a plus.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
• Min of 10 years of experience, including project management
• Ability to obtain license in other states.
• Proficient with TxDOT design practice and guidelines highly preferred.
• Rail bridge design experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, RISA, STADD.
• Passionate about transportation and major highway design projects.
• Ability to work / lead in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of multi-discipline project team in the design and development of projects.
• Collaborate with, and act as a resource for, Huitt-Zollars in a multi-discipline office. This includes conducting meetings with clients, internal disciplines and or contractors and their subs.
• Design and analyze structural systems for low-to high-rise buildings.
• Coordinate and delegate tasks between multiple disciplines and attend regular meetings.
• Effectively mentor young engineers and assist in their development.
• Assist and work with senior staff to develop project budgets and proposed fees.
• Review shop drawings, perform field inspections, and facilitate the construction administration process.
• Demonstrate competency in all project phases.
• Perform quality reviews of engineering plans for completeness and engineering accuracy.
