Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer to join its Gulf Region team. Located in Baton Rouge, LA, this role involves evaluating and engineering transportation structures such as bridges. Candidates should have technical proficiency in bridge design and relevant experience with jurisdictional codes. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects and collaborate with team members in a variety of settings. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a P.E. license in Louisiana are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience working with LADOTD, MDOT, and/or TDOT.
• Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings.
• Expertise with transportation structures and design methods.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems for projects.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Engage in design, analysis, and inspection of bridge assignments.

Skills

Technical proficiency in bridge design

Proficiency in Microstation

Problem solving

Initiative on tasks

Working knowledge of codes

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to check others' work

Ability to create and interpret sketches

Strong communication skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

Master's degree

P.E. license in Louisiana

Certified Bridge Inspector status
