Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a qualified engineer to design bridges and related structures using OpenRoad Modeler, with occasional travel to the Lake City office for collaboration with FDOT staff. The role involves quality control, on-site inspections, and spearheading remedial design work, while staying up-to-date with state-of-the-art methods. The ideal candidate has 4–10 years of experience, holds a B.S.

or M.S. in Engineering, and may lead projects or assist as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
• This level may be achieved by Engineers with 4-10 years of experience.
• PE Preferred, not required.
• Experience with OpenBridge Modeler (OBM) preferred; Not an expert but brings working proficiency, collaborates effectively in knowledge sharing environments, and demonstrates a commitment to continued professional development.
• Open to minimal travel to the Main District Lake City office.
• FDOT experience is a plus.
• Strong technical writing and communications skills are expected at this level.

Job Responsibilities

Designing bridges and other ancillary structures. Perform design using OpenRoad Modeler. May require some travel to the Main District Lake City office for collaboration with other FDOT staff members. Selects problems for investigation, developing novel approaches and solutions to technical problems. Conducts quality control checks, reviewing calculations, designs, evaluations and specifications developed by design staff for accuracy and completeness, performing on-site inspections and reviews, and conducting or overseeing remedial design work. Keeps abreast of state-of-the‑art methods and developments in area of specialization. Recommends changes or improvements to plans and programs. May function as the project manager for routine to semi‑complex projects. Responsibilities may include marketing, negotiating contracts, budgeting, financial management, schedule coordination and resources allocation. Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Compensation

Expected compensation range is between $90,000-$150,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
