Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineer to lead structural analysis on complex opto-mechanical systems. You will model components, assess stresses, and guide IPTs with senior engineers.

Responsibilities include developing FE models (FEMAP/NASTRAN), preparing technical reports, and presenting results to customers and internal teams. A TS/SCI clearance is required or the ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years in structural analysis; or Graduate Degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years experience in lieu.
• Experience with FEA and hand calculations; aerospace structural/dynamics background.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design specs and create FE models for structural analysis.
• Analyze models for stress, strain, displacement, and modes.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing results for internal/external groups.
• Mentor and lead mechanical teams of junior engineers and designers.
• Interface with customers and suppliers to drive designs to closure.
• Participate in PDR, CDR, TIM reviews and IPT leadership.
