Job summary

Boeing is seeking a Senior or Lead Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 4/5) to join the F-22 Air Vehicle Engineering team in Berkeley, MO. The role leads the Fleet and Production Support stress group, providing expert structural analysis for depot repairs, modifications, and production needs.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering with focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials Science.
5+ years’ aerospace stress or structural analysis experience.
5+ years’ experience in aircraft mechanical system design, fleet support, or sustaining engineering.
5+ years’ experience with structural sizing and FE models using NASTRAN/Patran, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct.

Responsibilities

Lead the Fleet & Production Support stress group, including mentoring and workload prioritization; serve as a technical lead for the team.
Provide expert structural stress analysis and dispositions for fleet sustainment and production.
Perform substantiation and stress analysis for bonded repairs using Patran, CSW, StressCheck and other tools.
Direct design and sizing of primary structure repairs for non-conformances; author dispositions to ensure military and airworthiness compliance.
Document analyses using classical methods and FE models to maintain fit-form-function.
Analyze fleet data and field findings; communicate risks and actions to stakeholders.
Support in-service products by investigating failures and proposing improvements; coordinate with other groups for airworthiness.
Ensure stress evaluations, repair procedures, and redesigns meet requirements.
