Job summary

The City of Galveston is seeking a Streets Senior Crew Leader to supervise and perform maintenance of streets and drainage projects. You will operate heavy equipment, manage crews, maintain records, and ensure compliance with regulations while coordinating with vendors and responding to citizen concerns.

The role requires at least five years in street maintenance with leadership experience and a Texas Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; five years’ experience in street maintenance and repair operations; plus 3 years supervisory or lead work and City of Galveston Management Certification.
• A valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License is required.
• Must demonstrate operation of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provides work direction to maintenance staff; assigns and reviews work; trains workers; provides supplies and materials for projects.
• Operates and maintains heavy equipment; transports gear to job sites.
• Repairs streets, curbs, sidewalks and drainage mains; locates utilities.
• Responds to citizen complaints; ensures safety and regulatory compliance.
