Job summary

StagePilot is seeking a senior software engineer to help build cloud-based live streaming tools across UI, backend, and infrastructure. You will work with FFmpeg/OBS and modern cloud services to design scalable workflows, support real-time media, and ensure broadcast quality during events.

Join a team delivering streaming experiences for high-profile clients and partners, collaborating with product, design, and operations to optimize operator workflows and event coverage.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience in live streaming or real-time media.
Experience with live video transport protocols (SRT, RTMP, RTMPS, HLS, WebRTC).
Hands-on experience with FFmpeg, OBS, or related tools.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based live streaming workflows.
Support video-related workflows with media tools and frameworks.
Ingest, processing, monitoring, and delivery systems for live media.
Deploy, monitor, scale, and secure streaming infrastructure on AWS or similar.
Collaborate with product, design, operations, and live event teams to build UI features and improve operator/client experience.
Provide engineering support during live events to ensure broadcast quality.

Job description

StagePilot is adding an experienced senior software engineer to play a key role in developing cloud-based live streaming tools. In this role, you’ll work across multiple layers of the system: building intuitive user interfaces, developing scalable backend services, supporting real-time media workflows, and helping optimize the infrastructure that powers live event experiences.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based live streaming workflows
Work with media tools and frameworks such as FFmpeg, OBS, or similar technologies to support video-related workflows
Integrate and maintain systems that support ingest, processing, monitoring, and delivery of live media
Work with AWS or similar cloud services to deploy, monitor, scale, and secure streaming infrastructure
Collaborate directly with product, design, operations, and live event teams to build modern UI features and improve the operator/client experience
Provide engineering support during live events to ensure broadcast quality and rapid troubleshooting

Requirements

5+ years of professional software development experience related to live streaming, broadcast, media infrastructure, or real-time systems
Strong understanding of live video transport protocols such as SRT, RTMP, RTMPS, HLS, WebRTC, or related streaming technologies
Hands‑on experience with FFmpeg, OBS, or other live media / multimedia tooling
Experience with cloud‑based container infrastructure such as AWS ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, Fargate, EC2, or similar services

Bonus Points

Experience building or operating cloud streaming, remote production, virtual broadcast, or cloud OBS‑style platforms
Experience building dashboards for live production control, stream health, and event operations
Experience optimizing live video workloads using GPU‑backed cloud servers, hardware encoding, or NVIDIA NVENC
