Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a senior leader to assist the CISO in shaping organizational strategy across Security & Technology and to drive programs that deliver outsized value to the Chainguard enterprise.

You will run planning cadences, prepare executive-level materials, and remove bottlenecks by aligning cross-functional teams. The role requires strong execution, executive presence, and the ability to partner with HR and Finance to plan headcount and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CISO in developing and executing strategic security initiatives.
• Run Security & Technology planning and operating cadence (QBRs, OKR cycles).
• Prepare executive materials: board decks, all-hands narratives.
• Identify organizational bottlenecks and drive cross-functional resolution.
• Act as trusted proxy: represent the CISO in internal meetings and make decisions within scope.
• Drive follow-through and hold the organization accountable to commitments.
• Collaborate with Security & Technology leaders and TPM staff on cross-functional programs.
• Manage dependencies between teams that no single team owns.
• Design and improve Security & Technology communications mechanisms.
• Build and maintain the operating system for how decisions are made and work is tracked.
• Partner with HR/People on headcount planning and FP&A for budgeting.

Job description

• Assist the CISO and their direct reports in developing and executing an organizational strategy coordinated across the Security & Technology portfolio to deliver outsized value to the Chainguard enterprise
• Run Security & Technology planning and operating cadence (QBRs, OKR cycles, etc.)
• Assist in preparing executive materials: board decks, all-hands narratives, etc
• Identify organizational bottlenecks and drive cross-functional resolution before they upscale
• Act as a trusted proxy: can represent the CISO and their staff in internal meetings and make decisions within scope
• Serve as a force multiplier for the CISO at operational level: drive follow-through and hold the organization accountable to commitments
• Work with Security & Technology leaders and TPMs staff to drive cross-functional programs (product/feature launches, new capabilities, certification milestones, etc.)
• Manage dependencies between teams that no single team owns
• Design and improve Security & Technology’s communications mechanisms: coach staff on storytelling, and work with internal and external communications leaders to ensure a consistent, coherent flow of information to various levels of the business
• Build and maintain the operating system for how decisions get made, and how work gets tracked and prioritized
• Partner with the CISO’s EBP and HR/People on headcount planning and FP&A for budget planning
