AI Strategy Consultant Job Description

An AI Strategy Consultant at Heller Consulting is expected to serve as an example of the firm's strategic and transformational philosophy when managing clients and projects and is expected to work on and take leadership roles in the firm's most complex and challenging Strategy projects involving artificial intelligence. To be successful, an AI Strategy Consultant must have knowledge of nonprofit operations and experience with technology systems utilized by nonprofit and higher education sectors, combined with a strong and current understanding of the AI solutions landscape.

Depending on the nature of the engagement, an AI Strategy Consultant may be asked to evaluate the suitability of existing and available AI solutions, analyze processes, identify gaps, confidently make recommendations for improvements or new solutions, facilitate decision-making, map out implementation plans, provide strategic leadership, and/or guide the client through inspirational, successful, and sustainable transformation enabled by AI.

  • Evaluate and recommend specific Anthropic tools and other AI solutions suited to a client's needs, capacity, and goals
  • Translate client requirements and desired outcomes into clear, well-organized written requirements that Heller's engineering team can use to build agents, bots, and other AI-enabled solutions
  • Translate complex technical concepts, AI terminology, and engineering considerations into concise, clear, and direct language that non-technical clients and stakeholders can understand and act on

Communication

  • Serve as a bridge between clients and Heller's engineering team, ensuring requirements are understood as intended and that technical constraints or trade-offs are communicated back to clients in plain language
  • Ability to navigate obstacles such as client organizational culture, personality challenges with team and/or clients, and potential challenges with industry partners and product vendors to deliver on project objectives

  • Actively contribute to and build Heller's knowledgebase, including AI solution research, use cases, and lessons learned
  • Participate in, contribute to, and/or lead initiatives around Heller's AI services and internal AI use-cases
  • Continuously research the AI solutions market and stay current on news, trends, and developments related to the impact of AI on business and the nonprofit sector, so that recommendations to clients remain accurate and up to date
