Job summary

Red Oak Sourcing is seeking a data analyst for the Strategy & Analytics team to design Tableau/Salesforce dashboards, manage SQL databases, automate processes in Python, build data pipelines, and perform ad hoc analytics to inform daily generic pharmaceutical sourcing strategy and long-term decisions by the Executive Leadership Team.

Position Summary:

Red Oak is seeking a data analyst for the Strategy & Analytics team to design Tableau/Salesforce dashboards, manage SQL databases, automate processes in Python, build data pipelines, and perform at hoc analytics to inform daily generic pharmaceutical sourcing strategy as well as longer-term decisions made by the Executive Leadership Team. Success in this role requires strong analytics skills, experience with key data tools, and the ability to work collaboratively across business functions. Experience working in the industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, healthcare, etc.) is also a plus. The Senior Analyst will have the opportunity to learn about an important segment in the healthcare space at one of the most innovative companies in the industry.

Responsibilities:

1.) Analytics & Insights

• Understand how product, supplier, and industry dynamics may impact Red Oak Sourcing
• Perform ad hoc quantitative analyses across a variety of topics, as well as oversee recurring deliverables
• Compile data and information from multiple sources and translate into meaningful insights
• Design and create new Tableau dashboards and visualizations as needed
• Communicate findings through appropriate tools (e.g., slide presentations, Excel or reports)

2.) Data Infrastructure

• Learn the fundamentals of Red Oak Sourcing’s proprietary data infrastructure
• Collect, clean, validate, and process data
• Lead change-management initiatives to help adopt new information assets (e.g., Salesforce)
• Design data pipelines to integrate different data sources into Red Oak Sourcing’s databases
• Develop ETL and storage approaches that ensure ready access to necessary data

3.) Cross-functional Support

• Meet regularly with business users to better understand their needs, and educate them on existing tools
• Drive various projects across the organization, such as design sprints and quarterly board meetings
• Support supplier meetings with dynamic portfolio assessments across a variety of metrics
• Execute review of generic portfolio (e.g., identify cost savings, forecast potential changes in product dynamics, model changes in purchasing methodologies, etc.)
• Partner cross-functionally to address business needs and create efficiencies

4.) Executive Presentations

• Conduct extensive research on subjects pertaining to business and regulatory environments
• Build compelling visuals that break complex ideas into digestible fragments
• Develop clear and concise narratives that guide the audience through the presentation
• Deliver presentations that focus on engaging the audience

Qualifications:

• Expertise in key analytics and data visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau and Salesforce
• Proficiency in Python and basic understanding of statistical methods (sampling, regression, distributions, etc.)
• 2-3 years of experience in a related field (e.g., healthcare analytics, data science, statistics etc.)
• A bachelor’s degree in quantitative or technical field preferred (e.g., data science, applied analytics, statistics, operations research, mathematics, engineering, etc.)
• Experience with web scraping and process automation
• Experience with relational databases and knowledge of database management fundamentals
• Expertise in building PowerPoint presentations preferred
• Exposure to other programming languages is a plus (e.g. R)
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Ability to connect disparate data and information to identify themes and trends
• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to clearly present results of complex analyses
• Ability to work with variety of stakeholders, particularly executives, and communicate effectively
• Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn the industry, and tools to grow in your career

The typical pay range for this role is: $78,000.00 - $109,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a Red Oak bonus in addition to the base pay range listed above.
