Job summary

Box is actively seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Partner in Chicago to lead end-to-end sourcing for technology spend, including cloud software and security tooling. You will partner with Engineering and Security teams to optimize supplier performance, manage contracting, and drive proactive renewals in a fast-paced AI-first environment.

You will collaborate with Legal, InfoSec, Finance, and Accounting to ensure compliant, value-driven procurement.

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities with Excel/Google Sheets.
• 3–6+ years of progressive experience across strategic sourcing, procurement operations, vendor management, or spend analytics.
• Knowledge of technology contracts (SaaS, IaaS) and licensing metrics; able to partner with Legal/InfoSec.
• Operational mindset with structured workflows and data cleanliness for procurement processes.
• Excellent cross-functional communication across Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal, and Accounting.
• AI-first and continuous improvement mindset to modernize procurement operations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Zip preferred; 6-Sigma/Lean Sigma preferred.

• Strong Data Analysis & Reporting Capabilities: You love working with data and have advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets and reporting tools. You are adept at extracting data, running queries, synthesizing insights, and presenting polished monthly and quarterly reports for leadership.
• Blended Sourcing & Operations Experience: You bring 3-6+ years of progressive experience across strategic sourcing, procurement operations, vendor management, or spend analytics - ideally within high-growth technology, SaaS, or Cloud environments.
• Comfortable with Technology Contracting: You understand technology contracts (SaaS, IaaS, security tools, professional services), licensing metrics, and commercial negotiation levers; you are comfortable partnering with Legal and InfoSec to finalize agreements.
• Operational Problem Solver: You take pride in structured workflows, data cleanliness, and creating frictionless procurement processes for cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Cross‑Functional Communicator: You build strong working relationships across Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal, and Accounting, communicating complex data and commercial terms clearly.
• AI-First & Continuous Improvement Mindset: You are eager to utilize AI and automation to modernize procurement operations, eliminate manual overhead, and accelerate delivery.
• Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with Zip preferred. 6-Sigma, Lean Sigma certification preferred.
