Job summary

HuFriedyGroup is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager in Northbrook, IL to own the most spend-heavy commodity categories and drive supplier negotiations, savings, and governance. The role partners with Finance, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to translate sourcing into measurable value.

The ideal candidate will build category management from the ground up, lead executive negotiations, and shape procurement standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in related field.
• 8–10+ years in strategic sourcing/procurement within manufacturing.
• Finance-validated savings and negotiations experience.
• ERP/MRP and procurement analytics familiarity.
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing strategy for the company’s largest, most complex, and highest-risk commodity categories, including approval of negotiation outcomes and supplier cost increases within delegated authority.
• Lead large-scale, cross-functional, and multi-site sourcing initiatives, including supplier transitions, dual-sourcing programs, and site/network consolidations.
• Develop and apply sophisticated should-cost models, total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) analysis, and market benchmarking.
• Maintain a risk-adjusted pipeline of cost-reduction, cost-avoidance, value-engineering, and supplier-consolidation opportunities.
• Establish and govern the savings methodology, including baseline definitions and Finance validation.
• Lead quarterly savings reconciliation with Finance/FP&A and prepare Procurement’s value-creation reporting.
