Job description

The Outside Account Management team at DoorDash partners with restaurant merchants to help them grow simply and profitable on the platform. Our mission is to support merchants throughout their journey – ensuring a positive experience while also helping them unlock meaningful growth opportunities. We work closely with merchants to understand their goals, solve operational challenges, and recommend growth strategies that fit their business – balancing thoughtful partnership with commercial impact.

About the Role

As a Senior Strategic Partner Manager, you will manage a more complex and higher-value portfolio of merchants, often including larger or more strategic accounts. You are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, bringing a consultative, strategic lens to each partnership. In addition to core account management responsibilities, you will proactively identify growth levers, influence merchant decision-making, and drive adoption of advanced DoorDash products and solutions.

Senior SPMs are also expected to demonstrate leadership within the team—mentoring junior SPMs, sharing best practices, and contributing to broader team initiatives. You’ll take ownership of more sophisticated business challenges, navigate ambiguity, and partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes. This role typically requires deeper experience in account management, sales, or partnerships, along with a strong track record of driving revenue growth and retention.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Own and grow a portfolio of top SMB restaurant partners regionally, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue and retention targets
  • Lead strategic quarterly business reviews, translating performance data into clear insights, growth opportunities, and actionable plans
  • Proactively mitigate churn by identifying risks early and driving adoption of DoorDash products and solutions that unlock incremental growth
  • Leverage data and AI tools to diagnose operational inefficiencies, test improvements, and optimize merchant performance on an ongoing basis
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Operations, and Sales to advocate for merchant needs and deliver a best‑in‑class platform experience
  • Influence and navigate senior and C‑suite stakeholders through compelling, data‑driven storytelling and strong objection handling
We’re excited about you because…
  • You have 5+ years of experience in account management, post‑sales, customer success, or a related client‑facing role
  • You empathize with customer needs and adapt to meet their unique goals resulting in an increase in customer satisfaction, retention, and product adoption
  • You are a thoughtful, merchant first thinker who creates data‑driven recommendations and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • You maintain a strong bias for action and an ability to operate as an owner for your book of business
  • You use AI as a core part of your account management workflow by prioritizing opportunities, personalizing recommendations, improving efficiency, and validating insights with sound judgment and business context.
  • You have knowledge of Google Suite, including Google Slides (creating client‑facing decks) and Google Sheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
  • You navigate sales and AI tools with ease (Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator, Google Apps)
  • You manage a book of business, with experience with higher complexity small‑to‑medium‑sized business (SMB) clients, or Enterprise clients
  • Spanish speaking is a plus!
