Job summary

AECOM's West Region Strategic Communications Group seeks a senior communications specialist to lead communications on major transportation projects advancing into construction. This is a full-time in-office role, co-located with a major client in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities include creating communications plans, translating technical content for diverse audiences, and managing content development across newsletters, briefings, and reports. Strong writing and CMS skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Preferred qualifications include a degree in communications or related field with 4+ years in engineering/infrastructure communications.
• Experience translating technical language into clear messaging and managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Creates communications plans/strategies and executes campaigns/outreach for transportation and engineering projects.
• Translates complex technical inputs from engineers into clear content for public and stakeholders.
• Manages drafting of e-newsletters, fact sheets, FAQs, exhibits and other materials.
• Develops core messaging and reports such as annual management briefs and board updates.
• Assists in media relations and responds to questions from reporters.
