Brailsford & Dunlavey seeks a Senior Communications & Public Engagement Manager to lead strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach for a major K-12 capital program in Oakland, CA. The role focuses on ensuring transparency, community participation, and alignment with district leadership throughout planning and delivery of large capital projects.

This onsite position in Oakland requires a seasoned leader with strong writing, relationship-building, and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience leading strategic communications and public engagement initiatives.
• Experience supporting public agencies, K-12 districts, capital improvement programs, or similar environments.
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic communications plans supporting bond measure projects and district initiatives.
• Lead communications across websites, newsletters, email campaigns, presentations, reports, and other channels.
• Coordinate stakeholder-facing communications, including updates, surveys, notices, infographics, and outreach materials.
• Advise facilities leadership on communications strategy and engagement opportunities.
• Supervise and mentor Communications & Public Engagement staff.
