Job summary

Steele Solutions Inc. in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. You will manage procurement for materials and outsourced services, optimize supplier performance, and support production planning to meet customer commitments.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times, track supplier performance, and mentor junior buyers while driving cost savings and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related field is required.
• 3–5 years of supply chain experience required.
• Experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, lead times, and commercial agreements.
• ERP/MRP system experience required; Epicor preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review MRP requirements and procure materials, components, and outsourced services to support production schedules and customer commitments.
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen supplier relationships through effective communication and performance management.
• Lead supplier negotiations related to pricing, lead times, service levels, and terms to drive cost savings and optimization.
• Monitor performance and manage delivery commitments, shortages, and quality concerns to ensure continuity of operations.
• Analyze supplier and purchasing data to identify trends and support continuous improvement across processes and performance.
