Job summary

Town of Barnstable's Department of Public Works—Administration and Engineering Division is seeking a civil engineer to lead stormwater and horizontal construction projects, oversee planning, budgeting, and MS4 permitting, and coordinate complex municipal programs across multiple departments.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, an FE exam certificate, and be licensed as a MA professional engineer preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 5+ years of stormwater/horizontal construction project experience.
• FE exam certificate; MA PE license preferred.
• Class D driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage stormwater and horizontal construction projects.
• Oversee the Town’s MS4 program and stormwater permitting compliance.
• Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and grant administration for large projects.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with departments and external stakeholders on design and construction.
