Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Stormwater Hydraulic Engineer to design and manage drainage for transportation projects across Kentucky. You will perform hydrologic analyses, develop open-channel and culvert solutions, and ensure regulatory compliance with KY regulations while coordinating with KYTC and other agencies.

This role emphasizes project leadership and delivering durable infrastructure. Qualified candidates bring 7+ years in stormwater/roadway drainage, a Civil Engineering degree, EIT

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in stormwater and roadway drainage design.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and mentoring engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT certification; PE license or eligibility is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of state/local stormwater regulations and hydraulic principles.
• Proficiency with design/modeling tools listed above.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses for stormwater drainage designs.
• Prepare and review drainage reports, calculations, and construction docs.
• Ensure compliance with state/local regulations and coordinate with KYTC/Division of Water.
• Develop stormwater designs for transportation and municipal projects in Kentucky.
• Conduct watershed studies and floodplain analyses; assess impacts and mitigation.
• Collaborate with road, structural, and environmental teams to integrate drainage.
• Assist permitting efforts with regulatory documentation and agency coordination.
• Support during construction by reviewing shop drawings and RFI responses.
