Job summary

The Port of Seattle is seeking a Senior Environmental Program Manager to lead stormwater strategy and regulatory compliance for SEA operations. This role emphasizes guiding long‑ and short‑term programs, ensuring industrial permits and water quality initiatives are met.

You will oversee planning, design and construction of environmental projects, manage a small team, and coordinate with regulators, airport tenants, consultants, and internal departments to ensure mission‑critical environmental

Qualifications

• Five years of environmental/sustainability experience, including at least two years in lead or supervisory roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or environmental engineering or related discipline; professional certifications valued.
• Extensive knowledge of NPDES, CW Act, and WA stormwater requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead long- and short-term stormwater strategies, ensuring permit compliance and water quality improvements.
• Serve as SEA's technical expert on stormwater regulations and airport operations impact.
• Review designs and construction for stormwater compliance and environmental impact.
• Negotiate requirements with regulators, tenants, consultants, and internal departments.
• Oversee consultant contracts for stormwater planning, monitoring, and implementation.
• Act as a key member of the environmental spill team and manage on-call spill response.
• Supervise a team of up to 3 stormwater professionals.
