Job summary

The Port of Seattle is seeking a Senior Environmental Program Manager to lead NPDES and stormwater compliance for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. You will guide staff in field monitoring, inspections, documentation, and reporting while coordinating with regulators and airport partners.

You will manage consultants, budgets, and scope of work for stormwater projects, contribute to policy development, and act as an environmental spill team member.

Qualifications

  • Five years of environmental/sustainability experience with two years in lead or supervisory roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/engineering or related discipline; professional certifications are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater management, NPDES, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day management and compliance of NPDES and stormwater programs for SEA.
  • Provide technical oversight of field monitoring, inspections, documentation, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement strategic stormwater plans and performance improvements.
  • Coordinate regulatory negotiations and permit discussions with agencies and stakeholders.
  • Manage consultants, contracts, scopes of work, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Serve on the environmental spill team and support incident response.
  • Supervise a team of up to 3 stormwater professionals.

Education

Bachelor's degree in environmental science or environmental engineering
Professional Engineer (PE)
Licensed HydroGeologist (LHG)
Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ)
Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC)
