The Senior Storekeeper at the Department of Public Health oversees storeroom operations, managing supply distribution and inventory for Jail Health Services. Under direction, the Senior Storekeeper for the Department of Public Health's Jail Health Services (JHS) Operations and Administration is responsible for the operation of one large or several small storerooms that stock a large and diverse inventory of supplies, materials and equipment. They are a key member of the JHS Operations and Administration Team and hold overall responsibility for storeroom operations, including procurement, inventory management, and supply distribution, while ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies.
Job Location: All Jail Locations in San Francisco, CA and San Bruno, CA
The essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
The 1936 Senior Storekeeper may perform other duties as assigned/required.
Condition of Employment: Maintain background jail clearance.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirement by the final filing date unless otherwise noted.
One-year fulltime employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).

Selection Procedures:

Assessment Component
Candidates that meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in Supplemental Questionnaire exam that is designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities in job related areas which may include but not be limited to: Knowledge of established methods and procedures commonly used in storerooms, such as inventory management system, stock control and replenishment, BIN labeling; Knowledge of safety procedures, including the safe operation of manual and power tools and equipment, such as electric carts, and pallet jacks; Skill to accurately perform mathematical calculations related to storeroom activities; Skill to use hand and power tools and equipment; Ability to supervise personnel engaged in storeroom activities; Ability to promote, establish, and maintain effective working relationships; Ability to operate a two-way radio, cell phone and pager; Ability to operate a motor vehicle; Ability to use a personal computer; Ability to load, unload, lift and carry items that are bulky or weigh up to 75 lbs; Ability to write in a manner that is easily understood; Ability to speak in a manner that is easily understood; Ability to listen to and understand what is said; and/or Ability to use computer software applications such as MS Teams, People Soft, or requisition systems.
Supplemental Questionnaire Exam (Weight: 100%)
Candidates must achieve a passing score on the Supplemental Questionnaire exam in order to continue in the selection process and will be placed on the confidential eligible list in rank order according to their final score.The link to the exam will be emailed to the address listed on the candidate’s online application. Candidates will be required to respond to the training and experience evaluation in the time frame indicated.
Additional selection processes may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions.
Certification
The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be theRule of Ten Scores.
The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be 12 months and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
