Job summary

PGTEK is seeking an experienced Storage Systems Engineer to support a long-term federal program. You will manage enterprise SAN storage, backup & recovery, and data protection across mission-critical environments.

The role requires an active Secret Clearance, a Bachelor's in IT/CS, and 5+ years with storage, SAN, and BURA technologies. Travel up to 20% and residence within 90 minutes of a site is expected.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience administering enterprise storage environments.
• Strong experience with SAN, Fibre Channel, and iSCSI.
• Expertise with backup platforms: Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Dell NetWorker, Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity.
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere or equivalent virtualization platforms.
• Experience in secure government or enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise SAN infrastructure.
• Manage backup and recovery (BURA) to ensure data integrity.
• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot storage systems.
• Perform provisioning, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Configure replication, snapshots, cloning, and DR solutions.
• Monitor health and proactively resolve storage and backup issues.
• Collaborate with virtualization and server teams for performance optimization.
• Assist in upgrades, migrations, and patching.
