Job summary

Amentum in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Storage Solutions Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency on the IRES contract. The role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting storage, Linux/Windows servers, and virtual environments to ensure reliable operations.

Candidates should have extensive storage experience (SAN/NAS and backup), VMware/vSAN, and an active DoD 8570 Level II certification with a DoW Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of general full-time work experience.
• 4+ years of IT systems experience with VMware and storage.
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS, cloud storage and backup solutions.
• Familiarity with storage tools (3PAR, Nimble, NetApp, EMC, Dell, IBM).
• Experience with storage protocols (iSCSI, FC, NFS, SMB).
• Active DoD 8570 Level II certification (Security+ CE) and DoW Secret clearance.
• Experience with RHEL 7/8 CLI is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot storage solutions and virtual environments.
• Research technologies and optimize to ensure maximum throughput and reliability.
• Track storage performance, identify issues, and implement optimizations.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting for future growth.
• Collaborate with system admins, network engineers, and cybersecurity staff.
• Maintain backup procedures and recovery facilities documentation.
• Communicate status to team leads and stakeholders.
