MSL Captive Solutions Inc., a division of Strategic Risk Solutions Inc. (SRS), the world’s largest independent insurance company manager, is growing and looking for a Stop Loss Policy Administration Team Lead experienced in stop loss policy administration.

This remote U.S. based role is tailored for experienced Underwriters with solid knowledge of underwriting philosophies and techniques within medical stop loss.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead and manage the underwriting operations as we grow in an emerging, exciting segment of the medical stop loss market
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of applications, financial documents, and other relevant information to make informed decisions
  • Performing risk assessments on potential clients to minimize financial loss
  • Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business
  • Develop, and maintain relationships with agents and brokers in support of business acquisition and retention
  • Work with customers and distributors to determine their (re)insurance related needs and to provide solutions
Attributes and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5+ years’ experience of medical stop loss underwriting experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Solid knowledge of processing methods and workflow procedures, and basic knowledge of insurance underwriting and regulations for assigned territories
  • In-depth knowledge of medical stop loss line of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Previous experience with medical stop loss captives is preferred but not required
  • Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis and win-win negotiating
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with all areas related to the captive functions, including underwriting, program management, carrier management as well as producers and employers
  • Ability to effectively assess risk
  • Guide and mentor junior underwriters
  • Strong documentation skills
