Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting a Senior Sterilization Scientist to be located in West Chester, PA; Warsaw, IN; Raynham, MA or Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The role focuses on sterilization science, microbiology assessments, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure device quality and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a bachelor’s in a related field and 2–4 years of experience in medical devices, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• University/Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Engineering, Food Science or related field is required.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of related experience in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and/or Food Science industries.
• Experience in sterilization/microbiological validations.
• Strong partnership and communication skills to work on cross-functional teams (R&D, Packaging Eng, QA, Regulatory, Marketing).
• Experience with technical assessments of in-house and external manufacturing and terminal sterilization.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, PLM and analytical software.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate microbiology and cleanliness topics related to manufacturing and finished devices.
• Work with product development to identify and mitigate microbiological quality risks and regulatory requirements.
• Complete sterilization validations or new product adoptions.
• Support compliance audits, including regulatory and supplier audits.
• Conduct technical assessments of contract sterilizers, manufacturers and labs.
• Investigate to ensure procedures and regulatory compliance and address quality issues.
