Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, UT is seeking a Central Processing Technician to ensure sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments for multiple specialties. The role includes training new staff and leading an assigned area as needed.

Qualified candidates will have HSPA Central Processing Certification within one year, with Level 2-3 certification preferred. Shift is full-time with potential overtime; benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA within one year of hire.
• Level 2-3 certification from HSPA preferred.
• Experience in Sterile Processing is a plus.
• Ability to work 40 hours weekly with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Identify, assemble, wrap, label and sterilize instruments.
• Handle inventory duties and issue sterile supplies to hospital areas.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization tests and parameters.
• Train and orient new SPD staff and students.
• Work with vendors to check-in and check-out equipment.
