Qualifications

  • Completion of a Central Service Technician course or accredited Surgical Technology Course required.
  • National certifications such as CS Tech required upon hiring.
  • 3 years experience in Sterile Processing or operating room is essential.

Job description

Description

The Instrument Service Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that each surgical procedure has complete, accurate and on-time sterile instrumentation. Works with Sterile Processing, Operating Room, and Surgery Scheduling staff to plan in advance for scheduled surgeries.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Central Service Technician course or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Course or equivalent OR experience required

  • Upon Hire:

  • National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association --or--

  • National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution

  • 3 years - Recent experience in a Sterile Processing Department OR recent instrument-related experience in an Operating Room environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a large multi-specialty facility with more than 12 operating rooms

  • Prior experience working with an instrument tracking system, such as InstaCount Plus and ESI
