About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to oversee their sterile injectables manufacturing facility. This crucial role is based in Welkom, Free State , and is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant production of high-quality pharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sterile manufacturing processes, a deep understanding of GMP, and proven leadership capabilities. You will lead a team of production operators and supervisors, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all day-to-day operations within the sterile injectables production department.
• Ensure adherence to all GMP, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand while optimizing resource utilization.
• Lead and mentor production teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Oversee process validation, equipment qualification, and cleaning validation activities.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage departmental budgets and control operational expenditures.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Supply Chain departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Maintain detailed production records and ensure compliance with all documentation requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Extensive experience in sterile manufacturing operations (aseptic processing, terminal sterilization).
• Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and other relevant pharmaceutical quality standards.
• Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Excellent understanding of production planning, process optimization, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience with relevant manufacturing technologies and equipment.
