Job summary

Aspenational in Mansfield, OH seeks a Senior Structural Steel Fabrication Estimator to lead budgets, estimates, and competitive bids for structural steel projects. You will evaluate drawings, specs, schedules, and risks, and provide design-assist and value-engineering support to pursue opportunities.

As a senior team member, you will establish estimating standards, review work, and coach junior estimators, while maintaining strong client relationships and adherence to AISC standards and industry

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural steel fabrication estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, detailing, shop operations and erection practices.
• Proficiency with Tekla Structures and Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience developing conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and negotiated proposals.
• Experience providing design-assist and preconstruction services.
• Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
• Understanding of design-build, CMAR, negotiated, and hard-bid methods.
• Experience leading and mentoring estimating personnel.
• Ability to communicate with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of AISC standards and structural steel industry best practices.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, analytical, presentation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, negotiated proposals, and competitive bids.
• Evaluate project drawings, specifications, schedules, contract requirements, constructability considerations, and risks.
• Provide design-assist and value-engineering support.
• Participate in project pursuit and pricing decisions.
• Develop productive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and other industry partners.
• As a senior team member, establish estimating standards and mentor less-experienced estimators.
