Devoted Health is seeking a Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant to support the daily compilation of Statutory financial statements and related filings for NAIC and state regulators. You will help enhance processes, assist audits, and contribute to a critical reinsurance initiative.

The role requires hands-on experience with NetSuite and Workiva, advanced Excel, and a proven ability to deliver accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Reinsurance accounting experience from implementation to reporting.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency with complex formulas.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Workiva (Wdesk) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory financial statements for NAIC and state regulators.
  • Prepare supplemental filings accompanying statutory statements.
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
  • Assist in testing NetSuite and other ad hoc reports for statutory reporting.
  • Lead/ad hoc projects (e.g., reinsurance accounting) to support Statutory Reporting and Finance.
  • Possibility to work overtime during peak reporting periods.
  • Review statutory financial statements and filings as needed.

Job description

Job Description A bit about this role : Assist the Statutory Reporting unit with the daily tasks related to the compilation of Statutory financial statements, reconciliations, process enhancement and other critical Statutory accounting and reporting projects as the number of health insurance entities has grown significantly. The position will play a critical role in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting as required by the various state regulatory authorities in which the entities are licensed. Additionally, this role will be assigned to a new business initiative regarding the accounting for reinsurance Our Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant will be a key report to our Senior Statutory Reporting Manager

Your Responsibilities and Impact
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory financial statements to ensure timely and accurate presentation to the NAIC and the appropriate state regulatory authorities (Health Statement).
  • Prepare all supplemental filings that accompany the quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements as required by the appropriate state regulatory authorities.
  • Support and assist in various Department/Division of Insurance audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and adhering to deadlines.
  • Support and assist in testing the development of NetSuite and other ad hoc reports to facilitate the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements.
  • Assist in the filing of the monthly, quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements using appropriate vendor software, submit filings to the NAIC, and individual states while adhering to all deadlines.
  • Lead and participate in ad hoc projects supporting Statutory Reporting and Finance needs as they arise (e.g., reinsurance accounting).
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary during peak reporting periods.
  • Responsibilities also will entail assisting in the review of certain Statutory financial statements and supplemental filings as necessary.
Required skills and experience
  • Reinsurance accounting experience - from implementation to reporting
  • Advance excel proficiency, including experience with complex formulas
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (ERP) and Workiva (Wdesk) is a significant plus
  • A demonstrable track record of success / delivery in a changing and complex financial reporting environment.
  • A dynamic team player who is highly motivated, a self-starter, can demonstrate great initiative, and is customer-service oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Must be analytical, hands on, and expected to be an immediate contributor.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple demands and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify actions necessary to complete tasks and obtain results.
  • Maintain high ethical standards at all times, to include maintaining the confidentiality of financial and other sensitive information consistent with professional and regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment where every day we try to develop and optimize our operations and processes.

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000

The pay range listed for this position is the range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
